Monica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering PCIT and regular outpatient therapy for individuals experiencing a variety of concerns. Monica has a BA in Psychology from West Virginia University, where she studied PCIT as an undergraduate research assistant, gaining experience in the use of PCIT as an intervention for children who display problematic behaviors. Monica attended the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh, obtaining her Masters of Social Work with a Mental Health Direct Practice certification in 2012. Monica’s experience includes providing community-based therapeutic interventions to individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness as well as experience with outpatient therapy in a private practice setting supporting those with anxiety, depression, family conflict, relationship issues, self-esteem, and grief and loss. Depending on the individual's personalized needs, Monica may incorporate several different treatment modalities into the therapeutic process, such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Focused treatment. Monica is also skilled at utilizing risk assessments and emphasizing harm reduction.
Currently Monica is able to accept Cigna, Highmark/BCBS, UPMC, Aetna, United Health Care/Optum, Geisinger, and private pay clients.
