Madhu is passionate about working with children from diverse backgrounds and celebrating what makes them unique. She has experience working in school- based, non-profit, and private practice mental health settings and believes in taking a systems-centered approach that factors in all aspects of a child’s life to meet them where they are and grow with them.
She provides child counseling and teen counseling for individuals between the ages of 5-16. She primarily works with those who may have anxiety, depression, life adjustments or transitions, or may be navigating gender/sexual identify.
Madhu uses an integrative and trauma-informed approach, drawing from parts work, somatic experiencing, and mindfulness practices. She loves incorporating movement, music, and play in her work with individuals and groups to connect with them and promote social-emotional learning capacities, self-esteem, and healthy attachments. She understands that, although this is a special time in your child’s development, these changes can be daunting and she hopes to foster authenticity and empowerment in your collaboration and journey together.
Madhu received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University and her Bachelors in Psychology and Gender, Sexuality, Women’s Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.
When she is not working, Madhu loves cooking with friends and family and spending time in her garden.
She is currently able to accept Aetna and Cigna health insurances and offers a private pay rate of $85 for the initial appointment and $70 for each subsequent appointment.
