Coping Cat – Group is an 8 week child anxiety group using a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach designed to treat children ages 7–10 with anxiety, worry, and fear. It helps anxious children gain education, tools and support for mild to moderate anxiety. This group will consist of 8 in person weekly group sessions, as well as one parent support session in our Pittsburgh office. Participants will learn to recognize anxious feelings, develop coping strategies, experience gradual exposure, and practice new skills in imaginary and real life situations.
The group utilizes the "Brief Coping Cat" 8-session program by Philip Kendall, PhD, ABPP, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.
