Parent-Child Interaction Therapy with Toddlers (PCIT-T) is an early intervention program that involves coaching parents while they interact with their 12 to 24-month-old children. Through utilizing play therapy skills and teaching listening, parents are guided in the use of therapeutic parenting practices shown to decrease early childhood problematic behaviors, improve children's language, and encourage young children to follow directions.
PCIT-T implements special components to meet the needs of toddlers, which improve attachment and build emotional regulation in both the caregivers and children.
