Telehealth counseling

What is Telehealth Counseling?

We are at an exciting crossroads between innovative psychological treatments and innovative technological advances. Telehealth Counseling is a form of counseling that is delivered over the Internet through a secure video chat platform.  The benefits of Telehealth Counseling include flexibility in scheduling and accessing counseling services from the comfort of your home.   In addition to eliminating geographic barriers to treatment, telehealth provides live coaching in the very environment the problems are occurring.  Clients who participate in Telehealth Counseling should have access to the Internet and a device that has a functioning  camera and microphone.

We are able to provide Telehealth Counseling for not only individual and family therapy sessions, but also PCIT.  For families that choose to participate in Internet-Delivered PCIT (i-PCIT) it is recommend to have a bluetooth ear piece for parents to utilize during sessions; however, this is not required.    In a comparison with traditional PCIT, i-PCIT shows comparable or even more positive outcomes.  Parents benefit from learning to use the skills in their homes, rather than an office setting.

For more information about I-PCIT please call Pittsburgh PCIT and Counseling at 412-212-6441 or visit "Broadening the reach of parenting intervention through technology".
