Teen and Adolescent Counseling

Approximately 1 in 5  adolescents  ages 13–18 experiences anxiety or depression at some point during their life.  Whether academic, relationship concerns, or starting college or transitioning into adult life, late teens can be a seriously exciting, but stressful time.  It’s also pretty common for the first signs of mental health problems to show up at this age.  We offer counseling  in a positive environment where teens and adolescents can feel their best.

Through counseling we can impact teens and young adults by:

  • Providing strategies to reduce anxiety, stress, depression, hopelessness, or self-doubt
  • Through counseling we can impact teens and young adults by place unhealthy coping skills such as drug or alcohol abuse, self-harm behaviors, and sexual acting out
  • Assisting teens to improve self-esteem and gain a sense of belonging, competence and responsibility
  • Guiding teens in learning how to manage anger or control impulsive behavior
  • Working with teens to learn how to cope with traumatic events such as death, grief and loss of a loved one, or physical/sexual abuse
  • Helping teens learn to express themselves appropriately and to improve communication
  • Exploring relationships, gender, sexuality, and individual expression through inclusive and affirming services for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults
  • Supporting teens in learning how to manage family conflict or changes in their family or community

We strive to help teens and adolescents through counseling to sort through feelings, values, and achieve individual goals.
